 The original breeders were farmers from Middle Tennessee. The Tennessee Walking Horse is considered one of the light breeds of the equine family. These horses have long sloping sholdersand hips. They have a fairly short back. The Tennesse Walking Horse can have many different patterns and colors. It has three gaits it can do. It can do the flat foot walk, the running walk, and it can canter. The Tennessee Walking Horse is a combination of different breeds including: Thoroughbreds, Canadian Pacer, Saddle reds, Morgan's, and other breeds.
