The Spotted Saddle Horse was made from the breeds: Spanish American Horse,
Tennessee Walking Horse,
As well as other breeds. The Spotted Saddle horse's history traces back to when horses had escaped from ships when they had crashed on the US border. They were almost always spotted and gaited naturally. They had the strength to be war ponies. When the Civil War ended many of the gaited horses were left behind in the early US. Selective breeding eventually ended up resulting in a smooth gait, and spotted color. Spotted Saddle horses are suitable for any task. Spotted Saddle horses have become a favorite.
