The site is located at the southern entrance to Rockburn Branch Park on Montgomery Road.
Facility:
Rockburn Elementary opened in August of 1993 and has undergone three major updates since then. The school is currently designed to house six instructional pods grades one to five. There are five full day kindergarten classrooms and three special regional early childhood classrooms. The following auxiliary rooms are part of the facility: art, reading, gifted and talented, vocal music, band ensemble, special education, speech, parent volunteer, media, gymnasium, cafeteria, and recreation and parks.
Student Population:
Enrollment - 715 students; levels - Pre-K through grade 5.
During the 2006 - 2007 school year, the population was comprised of 69.8% White, 12.1% African American, 10.5% Asian, 4.1% Hispanic, 0.4% Native American, and 3% unidentified.
